I’d spent years looking for somewhere suitable for our video work. We viewed countless spaces around Bristol, but they were usually either co-working spaces with dividers or individual rooms with thin plasterboard walls. What we really needed was something closer to light-industrial space, but with smaller, affordable units – and that was incredibly difficult to find.
When we came across Meriton Foundry, it was genuinely a huge relief. It offered exactly the kind of space we’d been searching for, and there simply didn’t seem to be many other places in Bristol providing anything comparable.
I also think Meriton plays a really important role in the wider Bristol business community. It gives small and growing companies a stepping stone – somewhere they can establish themselves, expand and grow onsite, or move on to larger premises as they grow. A number of businesses that started here have gone on to become larger employers in the area, and spaces like Meriton help make that possible.
The fact that units are so quickly snapped up whenever they become available says a lot about how much demand there is for this kind of workspace in Bristol. It’s a genuinely valuable resource for small businesses in the city.
